Northallerton 3rd team entertained Guisborough 3rds/Colts at home in a down trodden and wet encounter, before falling to defeat by a score of 12-24.

It was Guisboros backs who made the difference in the game, being slicker, younger and better drilled. North showed patches of encouraging rugby but also on occasion looked shabby and unco-ordinated. Maybe more training on Tuesdays and Thursdays will help correct the problems.
Youngsters Dean Wilson and Dougies mate who came on in the second half on the wing (sorry can't remember his name!) both showed promise for the future and will hopefully be available for the rest of the season.

Northallerton also welcomed back Craig Walley Snr, one of their best and most consistent players of the 70's and 80's, who had just turned 60 years young, and wished to play a one off game with his son Craig Walley Jnr. Walley Snr lasted over a full hour, and dominated the scrum against ex Northallerton player Paul 'Dicko' Dixon, before being replaced by the much younger Kenny Burdass. By then though North were 24 points down and seemingly chasing a lost cause. Two well worked, late tries from youngsters Des '' Fisher and Dean 'Jockey' Wilson made the score line more respectable and a closer reflection of the sides competitiveness.
