Northallerton 2nd team had to controversially call off their game away at Sandal due to not enough players willing or being able to travel.
North did manage to put together a mixture of 2nds and 3rds to make the shorter journey to play Acklam away only to fall to a 42-0 defeat.(maybe should have gone to Sandal!)
Despite being up against a much larger team North matched the opposition for aggression and diligence, with Tom Robson to the fore. Robsons display proved to be one of the highlights of the game and he could have a promising career ahead of him at North. Robson was also ably assisted in the loose by Andrew Fishburn and Martin Sanderson but were unable to keep the visitors out for long. North conceded only two tries in the first half but, as the game wore on, North became even more fatigued and shipped another four in the second half. There was more bad news for North when hooker Paul Dennison had to leave the pitch injured and may be out for a couple of weeks. This injury leaves North very short in the hooker position and could pave the way for a return by 60 year old Craig Walley who played a allegedly 'one off' game last week.
Next week North 2nds are at home to Morley 2nds, while the 3rds have yet to be arranged fixture.
