The Review

Pre tournament favourites Yorkshire Force lived up to their pre-match hype and took away the inaugural Northallerton Premier League.

The Force cruised through their semi Final against the Smeaton Slugs 10-6 and then put away the Northallerton Social Hand Grenaders in a hard-hitting, physical Final which finished 5-2, with Charlie Birkett rightly being awarded the man of the match.

The real excitement of the night came in the final of the plate between the Borrowby Broncos and the Sowerby Crusaders. With the final ending in a 0-0 stalemate the game went into sudden death. In such an event a golden try was needed to determine the result, with one player from each team required to leave the field every minute until a try is scored. Both teams were eventually whittled down to three players each before Matt Argo dived in in in the corner to secure the silverware for the Broncos.
