ANOTHER BONUS POINT VICTORY

Northallerton 1st team hosted Harrogate Pythons and ran out convincing 27-3 victors.
North for once started on the front foot with the forwards dominating from the kick off. Within the first two minutes North produced a long rolling maul before scoring through promising lock Tom Humpalot, and Greg Aspin added the difficult conversion from out wide. Five minutes later North added their second try in similar circumstances but this time through Lee Peake.
The game then descended into a scrappy affair with the pitch quickly becoming a muddy quagmire. Harrogate scored a long range penalty to give them brief hope, but just before half time, Martin Dennison touched down with a pushover try to send the teams in 17-3 at the break.
Northallerton again started the second half the brighter with the forwards still on top. Both teams were having trouble getting their backs involved in the wet, windy, muddy and slippery conditions. North introduced Dave Barrett to proceedings ten minutes into the second half but he suffered with the conditions, opting to keep his hands down his shorts for long periods.
Northallerton managed to secure a bonus point with two more tries through Jonny Baker and a second for Dennison. Aspin was unlucky not to add to his only conversion in the difficult conditions. Dennison had chance of a third but being a tight farmer decided to knock on instead!
As North closed the game out, Peake had to be replaced as the opposition were picking on him and he might have got hurt in a fracas.
Final score 27-3
Next week Northallerton 1st team are due to play Halifax in a cup game, but are awaiting confirmation as Halifax may have a rearranged league game to play instead.

Northallerton's 2nd team game at Darlington Mowden Park 3rds was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.
Next week North 2nds are also awaiting fixture confirmation.

Northallerton 3rd team travelled to Hartlepool Rovers 3rd team, and came away with a very creditable 34-0 victory.
North were in control most of the afternoon with powerful number 8 Ben England leading the way with three tries. Norths two other tries came from captain Peter Barraclough and semi retired veteran H Johnson. Jedd Bainbridge added three of the five conversions plus one penalty to cap yet another excellent kicking display.
Hartlepool had a intense period of pressure in the second half but good all round defence from North kept them out.
Next week North 3rds are away at Whitby.
