4th win on the trot

Northallerton 1st team travelled to lowly lying Hemsorth on the back of 3 consecutive wins and registered yet another away win by a score of 6-13.
Centre Dan Luck, despite suffering from mild 'man flu' eased Norths early nerves with a excellent penalty after 5 minutes to take the lead 3-0. North then pressured the home side for the next twenty minutes and should have scored at least two tries, but some fine last ditch tackling from the Hemsworth defence kept North at bay. The home home side had their first foray into Norths half after 25 minutes and looked promising, only for Greg Aspin to intercept a stray pass and race 60 yards to score in the corner. Five minutes before half time Hemsworth converted two easy penalties to put themselves back in the game at half time 6-8.
North started the second half with number 8 Phil Swall in the sin bin after receiving, what he said was his first ever yellow card. This forced Norths coach to introduce Nicholas James Ryan Bainbridge to tighten up Norths 7 man scrum. As per usual 'Tank' gave a very creditable and hard working 10 minutes before coming off injured (again). The home team now had their tails up and were knocking and knocking on Norths try line. Again Norths defence, including Joe Terry and Marc -The Mountie- Waldon were having to put in some bone crunching tackles to keep the home team out. Hemsworth had the chance to go one point in front with a straight forward penalty in front of the posts, but opted to run the ball instead before being forced into touch by covering Lee Peake at full back???
On Norths rare trips into the Hemsworths half it was a Terry who was looking the most dangerous with some excellent lines of running and off loads. Five minutes from time it was Terry who sealed the win for North, when he collected his own chip through to touch down. Final score 6-13.
This was a deserved win for North, but Hemsworth can count themselves unlucky to be in such a low position in this league as no team is unbeatable and most of their defeats have been by less than a converted try.
Next week North have a week off before resuming league action on 23/11/13 with an away trip to Leeds Medics.

Northallertons 2nd and 3rd team fixtures against West Hartlepools 3rd and 4th teams were both cancelled due to Hartlepool being unable to provide a team for either fixture!
Next week North 2nds are at home to Wetherby and Northallerton 3rd team are also at home, but to Hartlepool Rovers 3rd team. Both kick off at 2.15pm.
