LUCKY CARDED

Northallerton 1st team travelled away to Old Rishworthians after a 3 week break due to bad weather and succumbed to a 31-10 defeat.
North, as per usual on away trips this year, had a couple of late cry-offs and a couple of regulars unable to travel. This however could not be used as an excuse as the team that did travel were more than capable of competing against the higher placed opposition. For long periods of the game North did cause Rishworthians problems, particularly in the forwards where Richard Dongsdale and Lee Peake reprised their early season partnership following Peake's lay off. New scrum half Rolfe 'Harris' was also looking promising in the loose, making a couple of promising breaks. North though fell victim to lapses in concentration and found themselves going in at the break 19-0 down. North's case wasn't helped by the controversial sin binning of the jinking inside centre Dan Luck.
North played more consistent rugby in the second half and came back into contention with a typical forward orientated try, finished off by a twenty yard dash from Nicholas Bainbridge. Bainbridge had to be replaced soon after because of the extreme physical exertion involved, and was replaced by Dave Baker. The home team, who were always the better team closed the game out with two more tries with one converted, before North got a late consolation try through Ian Duffus. This despite all of Steve Robinsons so called physical attempts at changing the balance of things!
Special mention should be given to Mr Steve Metcalfes cameo role, which proves Norths youth development scheme is eventually showing fruitfullness!

After the game Robbo was complaining that someone may have bitten him, Peakey said it "def wasn't him as he took his out before playing!"
