Another yellow card tho - but not Dongsdale!

Northallerton 1st team hosted Aireborough at home on a warm, balmy Saturday afternoon and emerged triumphant by 32-0.
Both teams seemed evenly matched early on, with Boros experience nullifying North's youth and zest. However, a mix up in the visitors 22 gifted an opportunistic try, touched down by Joe Terry after 10 minutes. Soon after another mistake, this time from a Boro scrummage, allowed the ball to squirm out and into the hands of the grey haired wizard, Nathan Cannel, who proceeded to dash 15 yards before diving over the line. With the home team now 10 points up and totally dominating the scrum, the visitors began to look desperate and started to concede penalties and possession. This led to the sin binning of Boros number 6 as his frustration got the better of him. With North now at a man advantage, they tried to press home their advantage, only some brilliant defending from Aireborough kept the home team out. It was only when the visitors regained their full 15 did North make another breakthrough, this time from the impressive winger Ian Dooffus, who showed his strength to brush aside three tacklers before touching down out wide. Just before half time North got their 4th try of the game from Captain Paul Dixon, who seems to be having his most prolific try scoring season in nearly 30 years. Again his try came from a forwards orientated rolling maul, that takes his total for the season into double figures but his yardage is still in single figures! HALF TIME 20-0
Boro regained their composure in the second half and settled down to playing more rugby rather than get involved in silly personal feuds. This evened the game up and gave the visitors a better chance of scoring. Again North suffered ill discipline when hooker Jonny Baker was sin binned for allegedly being deliberately offside at a try scoring opportunity for the visitors. North then spent the next 10 minutes defending heroically without conceding any more penalties. Ten minutes from time, winger Rhys Kilbride broke from his own half, exchanging passes with Dougie Mulholland before scoring out wide. The visitors heads then went down as they realised their second half efforts were going to be futile, this allowed Dooffus to go through almost unchallenged for his second try of the game. Dooffus then converted his try, which was the only successful conversion of the game. Final score 32-0. This was North's first clean sheet of the day and owed much to some excellent defending and last ditch tackling, especially from full back Mulholland, who now finishes the season to go and play something called gayboy cricket(?)
Next week Northallerton 1st team are at home to Hessle
