Northallerton 1st team travelled to York RI hopeful of an upturn in recent away trips but suffered defeat again by 6-0.
North suffered an early blow when influential prop Bainbridge had to go off injured after 10 minutes and replaced by able youngster Lee Peake. Again it was Northallertons ill discipline that cost them dearly, giving away two soft and needless penalties. Northallerton, although strong in the forwards, seemed to lack belief or confidence when shipped out wide. North also missed a couple of kickable penalties that on another day would have gone over. This apart, Northallerton rarely caused the home team any problems, the nearest North came to scoring was when the usual safe hands of Robinson dropped the ball when only 5 yards out.
