A quick round up.

Happy new year to you all, I hope you all had a great Christmas.

Rugby news

The first XV had a great run before the festive period, only losing one game in nine! the only blip came in a hard fought battle away to Bramley Phoenix, however they returned to winning ways the following week with a home win v Harrogate Pythons.

They return to action this Saturday with a trip away to face Wetherby, who sit top of the table and are still unbeaten.

Before Christmas the 2nd XV continued to pull a team together and have done themselves proud both home and away, they started the New Year with a bang, beating local rivals Middlesbrough in a very muddy fixture at Brompton Lodge on the 2nd of January.

The 2nd XV are in action on Saturday v Barnard Castle.

Social news

The club played a "friendly game" of American football over the Christmas break against Colburn Blackcats, the game was hard fought and the mighty Northallerton squad came away with a well earned victory!
It was a very entertaining game despite none of the crowd or indeed the Northallerton team understanding the rules.
Not a bad effort what so ever after only two training sessions, one thing is for sure if the rugby doesn't work out we will do well at American football!

The game was played in the best of spirits despite a few injuries and I'm sure the fixture will be return at a later date. We wish Colburn Blackcats all the best in growing as an amateur sports team as they have only been going for a about a year.

After the NFL action we held a "Wild West Night" in the club which was very well attended despite it being the 2nd of January. There was country music, traditional hotdog and chips and of course a rodeo bull which proved to be very entertaining.

There will be more events coming up this year so please continue to support the club and come along.

Cheers
